SJ has combined personal experiences of trauma and life in the Armed Forces to create a military peer support network that is breaking down stigmas and saving lives. Leaving the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment in 2009 to pursue a career in digital, SJ held roles in social media management and digital PR, working on dozens of high profile accounts in the financial services sector, before building and selling his own web design product and training agency. In 2018, after a number of self-harm incidents and a suicide amongst veterans he served with, SJ co-founded All Call Signs; a peer support network for veterans and service personnel living with mental illness. In one year, All Call Signs has grown into the UK's largest veteran support centre, manned by over 500 volunteers with experience of military life. Beacon, a social media powered search application for missing or at risk service personnel and veterans, has been launched 52 times in 9 months, with 48 successful recoveries.
