Steve Challouma is the Marketing Director of the Birds Eye brand in the UK since March 2017. He has spent over 20 years in the FMCG industry, starting his career at Unilever and working his way through a range of international and local roles at Birds Eye. In the last year he has been leading the team responsible for driving the turnaround of the Birds Eye brand in the UK market through the modernisation of core iconic brands such as Captain Birds Eye, Peas ‘Pop’ as well as the ‘Waffly Versatile’.
Birds Eye is part of the Nomad Foods group of businesses and is the 11th biggest FMCG brand in the UK with an annual Retail Sales value of £466m (Source: The Grocer, Britain’s Biggest Brands 2018). In April 2018, Birds Eye completed the acquisition of the Goodfella’s Brand, giving it a presence in the Pizza Category. Steve is a passionate advocate of Frozen Food and its relevance for modern lifestyles, and is a strong supporter of CSR initiatives such as the Marine Stewardship Council, the Peas Please initiative and the recently accounted Plastics Pact.
Steve is married with 3 Fish Finger and Chicken Dipper loving children.
